"I rap what is real to me and God is very real to me. My spiritual poetry is my prayer. It is my way of connecting with God and expressing an energetic message of faith, hope, and love for God's children." Joe Melendrez
Joe Melendrez at a young age realized his calling to serve the Lord with a relevant and radical ministry. At 15, he began his faith-filled outreach, offering spiritual retreat facilitation, Christian rap and food for the hungry. In college, Joe wrote a rap that won him free burritos for a year from Chipotle. He used this "soul food" to bring faith, relationships and aspirations into the conversation with people from all walks of life by inviting a different person each day to break bread and hear about Jesus!
Since that time his audiences have grown significantly, and he has appeared across the USA, in Africa, Australia, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Germany. Joe has been featured in USA Today, the National Catholic Reporter, National Public Radio, and several other online publications.
Joe is one of Catholic youth ministry's most exciting performers. At 15 he was on MTV and in college he learned all Justin Timberlake's moves. He has performed in Europe, Africa, Australia and across the USA. His skills in animating huge crowds of students have made him sought after for major youth rallies, conferences, and national events. He is a natural MC, a dynamic musical performer, an inspiring speaker, and an expert retreat leader.
His album KINGDOM COME is Christian Rap with symphonic sounds, electro-hop vibes and catchy faith filled raps to turn the listener toward the Kingdom of God and salvation in Jesus Christ!
As Joe enthusiastically explains, "I am honored to participate in a 'revolution of prayer' that will fearlessly allow others to embrace the real love of God."
