Hello Youth Pastors,
Well first off I just want to say Hi. My Name is Luke Caldwell and I was actually a youth pastor for five years at Calvary Chapel in Boise, Idaho and I loved every minute of it. There is nothing greater than to have the opportunity to speak into a student’s life and make a lasting impact on their future. Well thankfully the Lord has allowed me to be able to continue to do that, but just in a different avenue. I sing in the band Esterlyn and it has been a joy to serve the Lord though this ministry. I just wanted to take a minute not really to talk about ourselves but rather to encourage you in the things the Lord has called you to. I know how draining and time-consuming youth ministry is and I just want to encourage you to keep pressing forward. One thing I have really been learning a lot this year is to be faithful as I live in each moment. God is working and God is building His Kingdom. What a privilege it is for us to be involved in it.
One of the main things I took away from pastoring is that youth are looking for someone they can tangibly look up to. Someone they can respect and follow practically. This is never easy but it is a great challenge for you and I to live in a way that really represents Christ daily. From the things that we watch to the way we put others before ourselves.
They are watching and they are listening to every little thing. Lets continue to strive to be living love to all those around us.
Thanks again for all you do! I attached a free song for you and I hope you and your youth enjoy it. I look forward to meeting you in person. Keep smiling for we serve a great God!
In His Grace,
Luke
“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
